Hey all, Im a senior in high school who is very, very interested in the trade. Substation, transmission, linework, troubleshooting; it all interests me. Is there anyone involved in any of the above who would let a High School Senior (18 years old) ride along with them? I live in Dunnellon, Marion County, Florida. Will travel anywhere in Marion, Citrus, Levy, Lake, or Alachua counties. Any utility company or contractor. Post back or give me a call 352-274-8531. Thanks for your consideration!

ALSO: I realize theres lots of legal liability issues, but maybe there's a waiver or something I can sign? Does anyone ever even allow ride-along's?

Hey River!!

Listen, I just heard a teacher tell me that he might be a "hire on" this summer checking lines for Florida Power. He said there is a retired gentleman that does that in the summer but asked if he would help him.

I thought it interesting. Heck, you might learn something doing that. Who knows? First I ever heard of it. Meant to ask the boss about this kinda thing though.

I think swamps is right on this one... except if your related to SOMEBODY... otherwise if your really curious... just sign-up as a groundman, get the REAL experiance. Take it or leave it... YOUR choice... Good-luck! Great trade to get into... not for everybody though. woody
