KEENE, N.Y. (AP) - A utility lineman was electrocuted while fixing power lines in the Adirondack town of Keene.

State Police identify the man as 35-year-old Timothy Pellerin of Dannemora. He worked for New York State Electric and Gas.

Police say Pellerin was fatally electrocuted while working about 18 feet aloft in a bucket truck around 11:15 p-m Monday night.

A police investigation revealed that a two-man crew had shut the power off to a damaged wire before starting to work on it.

While the second lineman walked down the road to check on another section of the power line, Pellerin raised himself in the bucket.

When the lineman partner returned, he found Pellerin still in the bucket above.

He lowered Pellerin and found him to be unresponsive, and called 9-1-1.

Pellerin was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
