EWEB Strike

Now that EWEB's strike is over in Eugene, Oregon. Does anyone have any updates for us? How many guys crossed the lines? Did EWEB really have scab "phone" dudes sitting in motel rooms in case any "power lines" went down?

There were several people that crossed the picket lines. Most of them were mechanics, relay techs, and comm techs. No linemen. EWEB contingency plan included having non-union crews on hand to handle any problems. They showed up 4 days late, and EWEB sent one home because he had a bad back and couldn't climb. They mostly used supervisors, who used to be union hands, to take care of the trouble. Although we were fixing outages on the day that we got back after the strike for customers that had been out since midnight the night before.......We should have held out a little longer, since it was clear that EWEB was floundering..
