View Full Version : A/B Ticket
I just recently topped out with a "B" ticket. Some of the guys at work have been telling me to go to the hall and get an "A" ticket. I haven't really gotten a clear explanation on the difference or the process. Anybody got any input on how or why I'd go about this?

lobo, getting an A ticket will give you the freedom to work out of different union halls anywhere you want. with a B ticket if you were to quit the power company you couldn't just go down to the hall and get work, A members go first. Plus you get a small pension from an A ticket. to get an A ticket you have to take the IBEW journeyman test, oral interview, and work 3 months for an IBEW/NECA contractor and then get a written letter from your foreman if you are worth it. if you plan on staying at the power company a B ticket is fine. I have an A ticket

An a ticket gives the freedom to tell the p.company where to go should so desire! Travel around or just go to work for a contractor in your district! If you are a member of 611 it should just be a formality as they cover the outside to!
