try www.transpower.ca and www.blackandmcdonald.com, they are two other contractors in that area. Also www.k-line.ca, this company has postings for journeymen linemen right now.

Hey Lineman 1010, you need to get a work permit, or be a permanent resident of Canada, or a Canadian citizen to work in Canada. You must then get your provincial permit for line work in Ontario. You may also want to get your interprovincial certificate. The IBEW may help you with setting up the testing, but I am not sure. Some Hydros will start you at a lesser rate than journeyman until you have all of the certifications, if you can talk them into it. Ontario is a great province to work in, and extremely safety orientated. I have worked in several states, and two different provinces, and Ontario is well worth the effort to work and live in. Look up all of the Hydros in the areas you wish to live in, and also contact EUSA. EUSA will probably have the classes you will need to be certified.
GOOD LUCK

i have everything i need for the work permit and things like that, i can move up there at anytime and have no problem. i didnt know about any of the other stuff tho thanks for the info, thats why i have been calling the hall atleast once a week to get some info but for some reason no phone calls back, maybe they dont want me working out of there hall. i figured with my ticket saying jL and have completed a union apprenticeship i would have no problem just going out to work up there but it doesnt look like its going to happen that easily
