how many of you drink? whats it do ot ya how s it effect your work? I'm only asking cuz the wife's gotten on me tonight... and you can prolly tell I've posted more tonight than I hav ein the past month or 2 put togeather...
Drinking damned near cost me my marriage years ago when I was still a contrator hand and was drinking 12 or better every night .. I quit cold when the wife called me on it....and started i dunno drinking from time to time on then weekends (like now) I'm rarely on call (I usually work transmission and sub'mission and usually just advise or safety)but I'm an OT whore and still need to get high so I work some of the 'bution stuff (still love big storms)...
Just figured I'd ask since I'm working on the 14th...

Are you sure alcohol is the real problem?

I used alcohol as a solution to being screwed up on the inside for a lot of years. I had convinced myself it was "fun", but in truth it was a cover for my fears, insecurities, pride, anger, etc.....

When I quit drinking, I had to figure out why I was drinking in the first place.

Just taking the alcohol out of the equation seldom "fixes" the real problems. Without fixing the root causes, a return to the bottle is inevitable. The bottle makes it so we don't have to "deal with life".....but it also creates more havoc in the process.

Ahhh hell Koga why ya gotta go and get all Zen on me man? I aint' really worried about my drinkin... not anymore... the was a time though man there was a time.... I was just interested in some of you other cats... I'd a gotten back to ya earlier by I been spending the weekend with the grandkids on the river... fishin was pretty good yesterday for sure they had a blast...
there more than just alcohol ... hell tobacco and other stuff that lineman do... so guys gamble theres lots of vices....
anyway bud sorry if I broke a string with ya...I was just wonderin' I know I've got issues like boomer said it aint the drink it's what your try to cover up with it...

Perhaps I'm "lucky". When I drink I go from lightly tippled to ill in one short step. I've never really been much of a drinker. I can have bottles of spirits bought on impulse sitting on my shelf for years untouched.

I did have a lager tops (Lager with a shot of lemonade to sweeten it) in my favourite rock bar today.

yeah man the fishing was furious!!! always fun for kids when it's like that... hell we musta caught a hundred or better (mostly smallies but snaged a few cats...) we kept a few and fired them up Sat nite on the camp fire... it was a blast...

I read about the dangers of drinking. I gave up reading.

Its hard to be drunk all day if you don't start early in the morning.

In my youth I spent money on wine women and song and the rest I wasted.

the last 3 week ends its been thunderstorms and rain with the water white capping where I liked to go on Lake Ponchatrain. This weekend when Im on call and can't go ...... yep beautiful perfect. Oh well Im gonna go put the boat in the water this weekend commin up. Unless of course somethin better comes up !

Koga just how deep is lake ponchatrain anyway? I always assumed it was a purdy shallow hole Is there room in there for a 19 ft center console Bay boat?

has ships comming and going in its shipping channels. Average 10 to 14 feet in depth. yep it will handle it. You gonna make a trip over ?
Its supposed to be Pontchartrain. The causeway bridge or the train trestles at Hwy 11 . Catch it when the tides moving
