working at xcel energy

If any of you guys work at xcel energy please let me know your experience
with the company. I'm interested in joining te company but not sure what to expect.

I think it is going to depend where your going to work. That is the biggest, and what your going to be doing. A friend of mine worked in special const. he did more traveling than when he was on outside construction. He gave it up and went back to Hopper Const. I work there back when it was NSP. in WI. Alot has changed is all I can say. Good luck if your looking for work, and just to let you now the grass is not always greener on the other side.

I worked in the trouble department out of the Chestnut Service Center in Minneapolis before I went to Alliant Energy. They know nothing of brotherhood there. They make Swamprat look like Jimmy Hoffa.....They will stand in line to throw you under the bus. Things were far better in the St. Paul, and White Bear Lake Centers. Like Ski said, it just depends on where you work. Xcel is a huge company--but they're not the ONLY company.;)

I have been far happier at Alliant.
