Ever once in a while I will answer Apprentice questions on the forum, but mostly do it PM. You have half the battle with the backing of you family. Battman Local 304 Topeka, KS retired If you look at my post in Enter at your own Risk, you see I am a radical muther when it comes to union hands not toeing he union line. I call them rats. Just so you will understand me non-unions in my book is not rats. You need a basic profile. Nothing too exposing, just basic. That way I could answer, better. See if you are a IBEW wire, going to work as an apprentice, would bar you from doing small electrical jobs on the side. But if you are non-union, and believe me when I say, I matters little to me. I tell these kids get your training anyway you can then join the IBEW, because in the end you will be 175% better off in retirement. But if you are non-union now that cut in pay can be made up with little side jobs. Either way young-one good luck on your choice.
