Emergency personnel responded just north of the intersection of P Avenue and 160th Street Friday morning for a utility worker that had been electrocuted.
The incident happened at 9:42 a.m. yesterday, when Kelly L. Bruce, 47 of Hannibal, Mo. – a contractor from Hydacker and Wheatlake out of Missouri – had his boom truck basket come in contact with an electrical line.
Deputies from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, as well as personnel from the Boone Fire Department and Boone Ambulance responded to the scene, where Bruce was conscious and talking.
Mercy One air ambulance responded to the scene, where traffic on P Avenue was closed for approximately half an hour.
Bruce was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines where he is being treated.
