This is a late but might help.
1. Pysical test battery(ptb) and the IST(industrial skills test).
Basic math such as + - x and division. Then some decimal work and other stuff. Remember the ptb is a timed test, and its not the amount of questions you do but the amount you get right so if you get one right, and only did one, thats 100%. So take your time. The IST is a newer test im not familiar with, seems easy thou as long as u understand basic basic mechanical knowledge.
2. Results usually come 1-2 weeks via mail. Or since the one way into the line department apprenticeship is to start as a pre-apprentice. So I think they will contact you soon to get you in for the A.L.P which is after you pass the written tests. This test is the physical portion. 5 differnt parts. 1. climb pole steps up to like 25' 2. stab in/bat in cross arm at the ground level on pole steps without dropping the thru bolt. 3. Take a ride in a bucket truck to the top of a 60' pole and remove and put back in a glass (Stack) insulator without dropping any nuts. 4. Pull up a cross arm with 1 glass insulator up to the top of a pole, (75 pounds). 5. Memory test take items to certain places, for instance take wrench to table 5 then reverse process.
3. Get thru and interview time, foreman supervisors etc will ask questions about if your willing to travel CA etc, past experince etc.,
4. Pass interview and job offer starts 25.00$/30.00 after 6 months. get class A driver lisence. 1 year as groundman/pre apprentice postion. get thru as a groundman, then make apprentice for a 4 year apprenticeship with pay increases every 6 months. It will not be easy.
good luck.
