    Default NSTAR Employee Rescued - Hydraulic Line Bursts Caches Fire

    Thanks to the help of nearby co-workers an N-Star Lineman was rescued atop a pole when an hydraulic line burst catching the bucket he was in on fire.

    WOW What a video! Hope they are OK.

    Dam! Glad they're all OK! That tire goin made me jump!

    Seems like incidents with hydraulics catchin fire's happenin more frequently? We had somethin like this happen a little while back?

    There is a history of events like this on Powerlineman.com .
    One of the saddest was when a guy died after trying to jump from a blazing bucket onto an adjacent bank of earth, but the bucket recoiled when he jumped caused him to fall straight down.
    Portable defibrillators were first invented to save the lives of linemen. Where's yours?

    I'm not saying that this is the case, however, if you have hydraulic leaks on those tool circuits, get them fixed or leave the truck in.

    Yea they were lucky the guy was in the vicinity. If not we're possibly talking 2 dead linemen instead of a close call. And yes the guy should be commended for saving these guys.
