    Default laminate wood poles

    What do you guys think about em? They 've been popping up around here the last few years. Mostly on bigger lines. Seem like they'd be more of a pain but idk. Just curious

    Been around for a long time.
    Had em years and years back in Miami. Transmission poles.
    Don't know much about em personally, or their longevity. Do know ya couldn't, or weren't allowed to climb em. Maby someone who has had more experience with em will comment.

    The powers that be are looking at fiber glass distribution poles here. Been talking about them for a while but have only seen them at the training center at this stage. Would always be cautious about laminate poles aging with moisture, do the laminates come apart? Everything that is fiber-glass over here breaks down sooner or later no matter the warranty on stuff is, the gel-coat gets eaten by the UV and it looks like glitter in the air as soon as you disturb it, its only a matter of time before they bring in the poles and cross arms made of the crap...
    From the pole to the hole and both sides of the meter....
