Is there anyone like me that has never seen a linemans rodeo,I see enough at work, guess thats why Ive never had the interest. But anyway,I thought they had a speed climb at one time, another with the egg in mouth event....what about the hurt man rescue...do they now make the competitors use all the fancy safety devices, the fall restraints, the bucksqueezes....if so,I would bet my last dollar that I would never go to one,I mean whats a rodeo without the risk factors.....maybe Ill shut my mouth and head to a steer rodeo, watch some bullriding, but then again will the cowboys be riding a mechanical bull?I give up.

I've seen more than a hand full of people fall to the ground using a fall restraint like bucksqueeze or jelco, they can loosen them up so much, they might as well be hitch hiking, and they got up pretty **** quick too.

I never had the interest in staying over for 3 or four hours, when it was time to leave for the house, but thats just me.I would sometimes watch them practice, but not for too long.

I dont want anyone to get me wrong,Im not against the rodeos and know several friends that have competed in them......I have noticed that most have pressed shirts and jeans, even after they have climbed after a full day on the job and after practice.....I only wish I could learn how to do that.

I watched our teams practice the weeks before the Kansas City Rodeo for years, but never went to one till I retired and stopped by the local Muni having a rodeo with all the Munis in the area and met a bunch of guys I knew. It was a good time.

In the last few years the company didn't support a team so the guys had the Union lend support and I think they did some fund raising to go. They went as contractors. Not sure if they used the squeeze or not.
