How many of you guys have a testing procedure for your hotboards? If so what are the parameters? Are they hi poted? are they xrayed? What is the testing procedure? Thank you for your input.

There's no such thing as "The End Of The Line!"

If you think you are worth what you know, you are very wrong. Your knowledge today does not have much value beyond a couple of years. Your value is what you can learn and how easily you can adapt to the changes this profession brings so often. -- Jose M. Aguilar

I don't really feel qualified to comment on dielectric testing of a diving board but would like to raise a couple of questions.
Obviously there is two types of testing required, structural and dielectric.
If a worker is using the board with dielctric concerns in mind, where would he attach for fall arresting purposes.
I know that the post on the dielctric portion of the board is the proper place to belt to. On the other hand I've seen lineman relying on the dielectic properies of the board and belted to the x-arm or another part of the structure.
This action defeats the dielectric properties that he was relying on. Perhaps not enough thought goes into what this action has done.
Another issue that linemen aren't always analizing properly is that ALL fall arresting equipment must have a rated strength of 5,000 lbs. A lineman who is secured using his lineman's body belt which is low slung because of the accessory of a gut strap is really at peril because the snaps and straps from the gut strap to the body belt are the weakest link in the chain and won't withstand the dynamic force of arresting a fall unless it is made of man made material (nylon web) and encircles the nylon impregnated portion of the body belt. This is the portion that the buckle is secured to.
    Just throwing this out there.
