Hello,
my name is Clinton and im interested in pole and tree climbing for fun.
i live in Ipswich.
is there any one from oz that can help me out.
i already have an old pole harness/strap (the old green one/s)
do i need to replace/upgrade my gear. i sort of like collecting gear. i saw that energex offers pole climbing training under m154 and m155 on the esitrain website.

look on youtube for climbing vids...watch how they do it...maybe there are tutorials as well.

ive watched some of those videos.




i use a pole strap always. its in case my feet fail under me. some of you guys hug the pole as you go up it then use the pole strap. i really dont like the practice. what happen if something was to distract you. always work up and down the pole with a strap wrapped around the pole. remember safety first.
i use my pole strap for tree climbing mostly.
there is some abandoned poles still standing around the place i could use for practice.
all as i need now is the spikes for my shoes. yeh.

Spikes will only be for trees. We use hardwood poles here so spikes don't dig in

ok that rules pole climbing out. ill stick to the tree climbing.
thats probably why we use EWPS.
some of the lineys i seen use a extension ladder and wrap a pole strap around the pole at the top of the ladder and connect it to their harness. another good idea.
even seen it done by QR here when they change light bulbs on the stations.
