This is a trick question right? Only way to get ahead here is be a minority, better yet, a female minority. I have no problem with any qualified person no matter what they are being promoted...... But you ever worked for a female who never touched a hot wire or climbed and would ask why it took you so long on a car pole accident???

Org! Your not talking about reverse discrimination, are you? It's been that way since I got a job in 1970. I could have gone to college, but raising a family I just didn't have the cash or time to, so I had to learn as I went, but I know there were people in line for jobs I tried for, that got it not on what they knew.

Personally I couldnt Imagine a female asking a lineman that question...unless she-herself was a lineman...now I did know one that was the service center area manager....and winded up being a vice president...they only had around 8 vice presidents,she was the only female that Ive ever known to get that high....matter of fact ...for some reason she quit for awhile and came back as that area manager...not bad looking at all....a ginger...I often wondered if she earned those titles on her knees.....hell I wouldnt know,Ive never had a desk nice enough to brag about...yea we had some minorities that were given those jobs...when another non-minority should have gotten the job....but to be honest ,there were two minority supervisors making those decisions....so,it wasnt any surprise to me......I can go on and on with this subject,but I do remember some black lineman being treated like $HIT.....name calling and worse.....I worked on the west side of Houston starting in the 80's....later I transfered to the east side and heard that the black lineman had to use port of cans that were outside while everyone else used the inside restrooms in the 80's....that surprised me...I could see that happening in the 60;s......I figure Poot has seen all that stuff in his redneck area.

TRUE:.........someday when I have nothing else to do Ill make a list of things that I once thought never could happen....even back when the drugs were good I couldnt have believed the things Im seeing today....Time magizine is having not one but two covers of a male kissing a male.....a female kissing a female....everything is ok these days:D.....everyone has their rights and everything is ok....no discipline at all unless you go into the services......Ill stop there and might just go to the dentist,I love having teeth pulled.....its so fun:nightmare:

Seen some Nepotism in a couple places I worked. Never seen no women put in positions over Powerlinemen especially for "politically correct siht". Anywhere I worked,...or would work.

Cept maby some bird dogs on Storm... I sorta enjoyed getting a female "Birdog" as a contractor.:p A couple of ones I worked for on Storm....in different states were pretty cool.

Basically all they were, were meter readers, with a good "Lay of the land" so they could direct the contract crews to the area that needed fixin.

Couldn't have tolerated what you guys are talkin about personally. Kinna why I never really wanted to work for Big union Power corps. Just one reason of many....

Back in the day, one of those little black rings was needed to get very far up the ladder of a big company or sit at a union reps desk. You know what I'm talking about, I'll bet. I'd rather have that system back as deal with the college educated pukes that seem to be running things now.
