Do you get much trouble over your side of the pond with thief s ... ???????
Came in this morning and our little green " off road vehicle " was stolen... We had it on hire but it had a few pull lifts in the back as well. We hid it in the field we were working in today.. It was parked in sum bushes as well... And we'll away from any roads.
We came in this morning and " there it was GONE "
The funny thing was, there was a sticker on the vehicle. "THIS VECHICLE IS FITTED WITH A TRACKER ".
Trouble is they only fitted the sticker and not the tracker... DOOH !!!!!!
It's the little buggie in the pic..
We were useing it to pull the bonds out across the fields....and drop gear to poles.. :(

Never had an entire vehicle stolen but we have had wire, tools, chainsaws, truck batteries, and meters all stolen at one time or another.

We are only 30 minutes from the port of holy head....where we get the ferry home ..
. SO , More than likely its on an Irish farm by now... It was stollen in the evening. And there's a boat at 2.10 am .. So all they had to do was stick it on a trailer or in the back of a truck and it would be in Ireland before we even knew it was missing.

Check the local farmers or the ditches in the area when stuff like that goes missing sometimes it some kid that took it for a joy ride an ran it into a swamp or something.

We used to keep all keys in the ignition, bucket trucks, diggers ,pole trucks,ect....back then we had a guard.....well if you happened to jump the fence and take a vehicle the guard would let you out and wave to you....now they have cameras and the guards are not stationed at the gates......anything is stolen here.....almost everyday an ATM is taken from a store, they drive a stolen truck through the window and take the entire machine....that and we have alot of smash and grab robberies in jewler stores....cell phone stores...forklifts,forklift batteries

Hopefully the police will check with the ferry company to see if anything suspicious shows up on CCTV.
I like this little device. It's a stand alone security camera with a body heat detector, infrared flash and a strap for securing it to a tree.

There's no excuse NOT to have a GPS tracker on any stealable vehicle these days, since they cost about 35 quid plus the cost of a 12/24V to 5V vehicle supply adapter and a pay as you go SIM.
Mind you, I should hope that site vehicle theft is a rare occurrence.

Any thief to our yard would fall to his knees and whimper at the sight of such unsecured riches:D

A long time ago as a helper...Ill always remember.....we,being members of a big crew went to the supervisors home for some reason that I dont remember....I recall seeing a light company boat...olive green and all....Im sure it was never reported as stolen....maybe he was saving the company money for storage....although they had acres and acres of space at the service center.....back then it was owed to the old time supervisors....its mine reppy...Ive earned it............sure your right sup.:D

My stepfather was in TX building a steel plant in the 70s. He was a superintendent of a pipe company. Stuff was getting stolen like bulldozer at a fenced site. He had five guys break in, and my stepfather was in a trailer. He had a forty five Llama. They were stealing a front endloader or dozer or something and selling it in Mexico... my stepfather shot under the undercarriage and hit feet shins and knees of four of them. Trust me stealing from a job site stopped for a long while. Thanks to the gun laws of TX. Two week ago they stole a five axle dump truck from a buddys company, 2005. Its in a warebouse waiting to get barged to South America.
Times have changed with the laws the way they are. If that happened today. The crooks would get probation and my stepfather would get 20.
