Can anyone give me some advice/info regarding this co. I know it's non-union which will be a change for me but a brief synopsis would be helpful as I recently applied.
Ex.
Free climb or fall arrest?
Pay scale ( I see online what they offer but that dollar amt must include what they think benefits are worth)
Overtime availability
Do they provide ppe and tools or do you buy your own

I appreciate any input I know I'm gonna get ripped irregardless due to the fact I would be coming from a big city union utility, but I want to know what to expect should I receive an offer to make the transition a little easier. Thanks

Austin is a big city muni , as well. I'm pretty sure they will give you what you need. Why are you going to work there if it's so bad? I knew a guy who retired from there said it was an excellent place to work. Pike is there big contractor. Pretty sure they still free climb.

Where are you coming from anyway? And if your gonna get "ripped" then why don't you stay where you are.

I didn't say it was bad. I was asking about how it was I am having a hard time finding good info on them. As far as getting 'ripped' just didn't know how the guys take to new hires from different areas. At my current co. When we hire off the street irregardless of skill level they start out as grunts and progress thru the training program. Currently I'm around the Houston area, I know there will probably be a difference in pay scale for sure and a learning curve on standards/procedures. So all the info I can get will make the transition a little easier if I am offered a job.

Well JY here makes $35 and some change so I was just curious. I like to be prepared. As far as the union goes I don't want to be that guy. Lol if I get there I'd like to finish my career there lord willing and not stir up too much crap.

You should be that guy. Anyway good luck to ya, seems like they're hiring every few months. Looks like a good solid company.
