what ive been doing this summer

well I didn't go to Canada after all wife wasn't keen on me going away for three months at a time
anyway I ended up working in Bristol building a new tower line
from oldbury power station on the river severn to a new switching station that we also had to build we had to cut down
we used a chopper to do a lot of the hauling
we built the new towers in a yard and will be flying them out soon

Glad your keeping busy Neil... Looks too sunny for a Scotish chap.. Surprised ya didn't melt.... :) I always found building towers ( or poles ) in the yard boring as f@ck... Like an out door factory.

Sure ya should of just texted the Quare wan when ya were in Canada a few weeks. She'd be grand.

How many towers is the job?how many guys on it?

there was about 24 new towers and 35 old ones that got kept
I had 20 men on the job and babcock had 30
we took down 24 towers also
the new towers got flown out with heli rollers on them
so that the chopper could pull out the conductor aswell
but im now finished over there ive a weeks holiday then back to running the lv
