During and after large stormes where there are thousands of outages and sometimes plenty of confusing some foreman really shine and take charge, while others do the following and stand behind. These foreman assign their crews and other foremans crews to areas that are affected most.Working the longest hours with the lineman that go from job to job, they relay info back and forth to the service board and even plan for the next day while the other foreman are too tired and sleeping in their beds. Most of these types were good lineman as they are foreman.Ive only seen one Supervisor that stayed over 24 hours in the center after the storm, and he once radioed me and told me to head for the house once I cleared up,what might have happened is that he didnt want me there longer than him,so he headed for his house while I stayed a few hours longer.Does this seem familiar to the the way your company operates? Id say a supervisor stays around maybe 14 hours on the average, usually leaving far sooner than the foreman leave.Saying all of that there have been times when there was no foreman due to the lenght of the storm, some may disagree but if you have to have a foreman around all the time, you may want to leave when they do.:D....whats it like in your areas?
