It's great being a linesman for many reasons.. I was patrolling today in Wales and came face to face with " let's just call them" non native wild life.. Not as exotic as the wallabys I saw in Scotland . But definitely a surprise encounter..

I can tell you a funny story about a wild boar,im thinking that Ive seen it twice,but to be honest I really remember one for sure,This happened in Germany I cant remember where cause Ive shot motars in several places there ,,,well we were in a mechanized unit and back then they had 13 ton APC'S ..while firing these momma boars would come around and get next to us while we were fireing ....not scared at all ....protecting their young ....well I never figured how these animals could be so brave....I have shot thousands of mortars in my life....they are not like the movies or any of that stuff......its like being right next to an 80 amp fuse blowing on a great fault ....I went to become a gunner , even broke records and trained other units in the worst weather.....not bragging or anything but we had to tell other units where there weekness was after evaluating them for two weeks in the worst weather possible...these evaluations were sometimes at 3 or 4 am...not fun at all ...some units ....to be honest ...were not trained to well....poorly I will say .....and even as non -commisioned officers we would lay it on their Captain which is a commisioned officer .....some would even try to bribe me.
