You will never guess why we have been issued these new hammers.
NOT IN A MILLION YEARS...
we've all been given a new shinny hammer each..it's mandatory that we use these for a specific task...we are banned from using the " claw type hammer" for this task. We can use the " claw hammers" for all other tasks...except this very specific task.

the worlds gone mad...

Tell ya latter.

We had a safety brief on Monday telling us that no poles were to be hammer tested with claw hammers...the NEW HAMMERS arrived this morning...

the reason.

The claw on the hammer "could" act in the same way as a tuning fork does. And may emit a ring that imitates a sound pole when in fact it wasn't. FACT. !!!!!!!!!!!

I will ill scan that brief for ya as well. Can't believe it myself so I don't expect others to. ,

If you were to knock one of the supervisors up side the head with that special tool would it ring like a hollow pole. Don't forget to get the special training that goes along with the special tool. Maybe it's lend lease leftover from our space program it looks like it could cost a few hundred dollars.

ABSOLUTELT UN Believable.....the complete IGNORANCE of people that make the "Rules'.

They TRULY think Linemen...are just completely "pole monkeys".

I carried a 32 oz ball peen hammer all my Life Bren. Never had a use for a Claw hammer. EVER.

I was "old school". Every crossarm I ever hung...Ya had to Dirve in the Lag Screw with a Hammer. A "claw hammer" was something a carpenter used back in My days of Linework.

A 32 oz Ball peen...put that lag in the pole in about good 5 Licks. And one more for good measure.

"Tuning Fork" my a$$......how about "dumber than a box of fcukin ROCKS!!"

I hear ya....
"Pittiful"...what this trade has turned into....

No lag screws any more.... Only place they are used is mounting fuses... And at the bottom of cable crucifixes..and we gotta screw them in ... Even x arms ain't got them in any more..

We use claw hammers due to the amount of staples we use .. Need them to remove staples on the guys we install...we insert staples to hold the guys in place when building on the ground..must be removed before tensioning

They just told you that to fob you off Bren. They're trying to get the claw hammers off you because they know you use the claw to open bottles of beer while you're working.
