We are building a line in Wales. But another crew had built the steelwork on the pole we were on today. When we got there one of my guys noticed a crack in the x arm steel. The guys who built the arm had over tightened the spreader bolts on the end of the arm. Over Pulling the arms together. I HATE WORKING WITH OTHER PEOPLES PREPARATION. We were lucky that we spotted it as we were rigging to pull up. ....
its the simplest thing that will put you in hospital. " OR WORSE"

Two great lessons in line work.

1. don't build junk or hazards for the next guy.

2. Inspect jobs that were prepared by someone else, before you rely on them.

Good catch Bren, you have good men on your crew.
