Just when everything is running smoothly ..every one gets done early. Engineer switching the line back in is a bit " strong" putting the fuse back in.
Causing us to switch out more of Wales to fix the switching point.
needless to say.... Late Finnish after all.
In his defense ...the fuse carriers were older than ME...

Christ they must be real old they are mounted on a wooden cross arm, haven't see one of them in a VERY long time, dose pose a wee question though, why didn't the engineer pick up on that when doing the switching program?or even when he took them out or is he one of those guy that think as long as it works today for me then I shall leave it to the next poor sod?

For my system most fuses are on wood crossarms even new construction. About the only major exception is Dip pole fuses where they are mounted on a steel bracket with the arrestors and terminations of the UG.

They make look wood but are actually steel x arms. ... The fuses were down to be changed on the next shut down,,,, So luckily the pole was prepped and the replacement fuse carriers were sitting at the butt of the pole..:D

Bren, Bren, Bren. . . . .did you honestly think the job was going to go back in and everybody was going home on time? C'mon, I believe you guys invented Murphy and he has laws ya know.

I hate when you're putting a feeder back in at a large station with maybe 5 or 6 feeders on the whole bus and one of the under slung switches breaks above the oil circuit breaker in the station like that. Now we have to work out all the bridging and take the whole bus out just to repair that one switch. . . .I've done that a few times.

Just when you think yer home free. . . . . .
