It's hard to take sometimes but I think people ,no matter who they are(friend, countryman or workmates),will always do what they think is right for THEMSELFS and there family, but the thing that's hard to take I think sometimes is why know just man up and be honest and give others time to make plans as we'llwe'll

Found out when my manager rang me to ask. " ARE YOU NOT HANDING IN YOUR NOTICE BREN. " ?? The others handed theirs in yesterday. 9 years with them.
NOT ONE OF THEM MENTIONED IT.
ENS. wanted 5 in a gang.
So foreman is taking his 4 MAYO MEN ( men in brackets ).
No room for the DUB......
I start with the Jocks tomorrow .
TROUBLE IS THEY DO A FIVE DAY SHIFT.which isn't ideal for me .but I've not much choice. :(

When you mean back with the jocks does this mean you are heading back to gods country mate?mind you better be back before the 18th coz hopefully on the 19th we shall at least be vetting people before we let them into this beautiful paradise of ours(mind you the Irish are always welcome):D:D

No... Not up with them. I'm with the jocks who prefer being in Wales rather than " gods country"

Got plenty of options ... Got work up to March with freedom up here. Then wait to be twopead across.
My project manager wants us ( me and the Scotish lads ) to go with him to another company,. So loads of options...
its the the fact that a man you worked with for over 8 years can look you in the eye,,.and swear blind that he wasn't leaving unless we all went together......on a Tuesday...AFTER PUTTING HIS NOTICE IN ON MONDAY.. we'll.. As said before. "WHAT COMEs AROUND GOES AROUND ".

dont really know what to say here
im not going to say anything personal in this public forum apart from the obvious its a a low down move to put on anyone..... even a dub :p:p ... maybe your not ready for humor yet
well on the front of working in eire v the uk id stick it out in the uk, the punitive tax system here in ireland plus the fact that you would have to work twice as hard in worse conditions that coupled with the strength of the sterling v euro at the moment means the uk comes out on top for me,
that job in the Caribbean with neil sounds might attractive, if they never paid you the weather alone would swing it in its favour especially coming into winter, all that said if ya want to work in ireland its picking up again, most outfits have work all year round under this new contractor frame work the esb have going
oh and speaking of the old board they offered me a job in enniscorthy, have not accepted or declined it yet but im leaning towards turning it down, if im going to leave home might as well go where the money is good, probably not looking at the bigger picture but you have been there your self and know the ESB is not the be all and end all
tbh i regret leaving when i did, grass looked greener, not used to all the traveling and all that plus the age/ interest gap left me a bit alone if i had a friend my age with me id say id still be there now... sure as **** miss the money
got a job on my door step but lord the work is soul destroying
main thing is chin up you were a linesman before ya met them and yer still one after they have gone
btw whos the fourth mayo guy?

Loads of work still.. Over here. Got loads of concrete offers. If I were you I'd wait until all the contracts are sorted with Scotish power. ( January). Then they will be screaming out for linesman.." Even more than now. ". ;)
