I wouldn't have done it that way, but it looked like it worked for them, I was always taught not to get yourself tied up if you could help it and they were tied up, if anything goes wrong in a deal like that they are hung there with it till it's over, looked like an easy enough transfer with the new pole set next to the old. Gotta hand it to them though, they made it look pretty slick and it just goes to show that there is more than one way to skin a cat.:D

I dont think Ive ever seen anybody do that with an lateral.....wonder how many people were behind it and who.....must have been somebody important.But if something went wrong behind that lateral,it would trip the whole circuit and it would have been the last time he did it that way .

Same here. In almost 40yrs, I've never tied anything to the boom that supported me!
