Ok so the waif comes to me and says she want to try the traveling part of line work. Im cool with it but not sure how well it works with families. Any one got any input on to how well it works. Also how hard is it to find JY jobs nowadays?

iv been on the road for 4 years now....moneys great if you have children i would probably stay away from it. some jobs are better then others, a good crew makes the days and nights out of town go by alot better. but certain contractors you never know when your coming back exactly and sharing rooms gets a little old....

I worked away for the past 9 years. Got home for a couple of days every other week. Takes a lot of love and trust with your other half. Strange thing is. I finally got a job back home this year. I'm home every night... Every weekend and holiday NOW THAT TAKES A LOT OF GETTING USED TO..... it's very strange Sunday evening I still fell I should be heading for a ferry or the airport ... And I've been back home for over 5 months.

I didnt choose to work away. It was a case of going where the work was. Good luck my friend.

My thoughts were to get a job with a steady contractor in one area work there for 6 months or a few more get an apartment for that time period with the fam then come home for a few months then go somewhere else.
