Congratulations to the brave astronaught's going up on the old shuttle they must have nerves of steel and be very trusting of the launch team. Did you see all that foam come off when it launched?

I forget whether it was Grissom or Shepard in the early days of the space program was asked if he was nervous sitting on the launch pad. He replied I'm sitting on 50,000 gallons of explosives in a vehicle with 17,000 moving parts every one of which was made by the low bidder, of course I'm nervous.
Maybe not the "heroic" answer but an honest answer that meant he knew the risks and still chose to do the job. I always liked his answer the best.

Great quote as i said they got nerves of steel those guys/gals going up and knowing that pieces are falling off before they got off the ground.
