Ya can't really talk about the economy. Read the papers, even the liberal media can't downplay that the economy of America is doin GREAT and...starting to rise more. Check out the Stock market....check out the jobless rate. America is doin JUST FINE!

Oh but I can...how good is the economy when your paycheck shrinks because of rising healthcare costs? Sure unemployment is down, Many Americans have to have 2 jobs to survive. When the stock market rises and falls, how does it effect your daily life? Does it make your life, or any other working mans life better? If you have substantial investments, well then you can sit back and count your blessings. Most Linemen I know are working men, not bigshot investors who profit from the rise and fall of the market.

Hey swampy, alot it depends on where your living at. When i was living out in cali then i was making right around 52k a yr and with that i couldn't even afford to look at a house, houses out there was running around 250-300k easy. Renting nowadays then your pretty much paying more in rent then what you would for a house payment. I know here in N texas then most places are running for 600 a month for a decent place just for renting. I got lucky in cali and rented a place from a friend so i didn't get charged an arm and leg. But really doesn't matter where you go the cost of living compared to housing then it pretty well equals out in the end. The worst part is just tryin to pay the property taxes every yr, but i would still rather buy then throw money out the window on renting a place.
