Well our safety guru, CEO! Who knows nothing about our work, pencil neck, says we need to wear high voltage rubber gloves while opening padmount transformers, thats with the key and padlock, thats class 3's! And now we hear rumor that he wants us to wear the same gloves while opening padlocks on sub gates, because a wire might be down on the fence! GOOD GRIEF!

We always wore the gloves, and all PPE's when we lifted the lids or opened the doors on transfomers, but to unlock the padlock??? And the sub gates to?

I wish that's all we had to wear. Try hard hat, safety glasses, FR shirt, gloves, sleeves, and overshoes . . . just to OPEN a PMTX.

yeah, this includes opening the locks on the tx, but not a gate at a sub. That's a little overboard.

I feel your pain. We have to wear all PPE when opening any PMTX. But substation gates is overboard. lol
