I have a short question.
For linemen, do any of you ever use tools from a brand called Klein Tools? I just finished up a short course in school so I can get a job as an electrician, while I work on my Electrical Engineering degree(transmission tower design =D). Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

There is a difference between some lineman tools and electrician tools. Klein caters mostly to the electrician side of the industry. If your going to major in transmission tower DESIGN and persue that career then I don't think you need to be worrying about purchasing lineman tools. Kleins will do you just fine. Good luck.

PS - you might want to check out IDEAL, GREENLEE, T&B, GB etc... they may also be of some help.

Klein makes many tools used by Linemen. Off hand I remember a lot of safety straps, lineman belts, hooks etc. I wouldn't say they lean all that much toward electricians. dbrown20

From the Klein Tool Web Site
Since 1857, the company operated by Mathias Klein and his descendants to the fifth generation, has grown and developed along with the telecommunications and electrical industries where Klein pliers first found major usages.
Today, Klein Tools, Inc. represents much more than Klein pliers. The company's product line has broadened to include virtually every major type of hand tool used in construction, electronics, mining, and general industry in addition to the electrical and telecommunications fields. Klein Tools also supplies a line of occupational protective equipment, which is exhibited in a separate catalog.
Internationally, Klein's products are available around the world through a well-established network of agents and distributors who stock the products that are required for their particular markets. Klein's reputation as a leading producer of professional-quality products is global.
Like the industrial fields it serves, Klein Tools has grown dramatically since 1857.

I climb with a 2nd generation klein body belt. My dad used it and its still going strong. As for hand tools i have a few, but my favorite is the Klein 832-32 hammer. It's a 32 oz. wooden handled, claw hammer. It's the cat's ass.
