Its not my company, its our distributors. No one keeps anything in stock anymore, they tell us it will be atleast two weeks before we can get one.

The company I work for spends money like there is no tomorrow, what ever we want or need they get. It is a great place to work, they really look out for us.

What's a C die crimp?

Correct me if I'm wrong. It's for a compression tool for "squeeze-ons", paralell groves, H-taps, or whatever people call them for making connections between two wires for jumpers ect. I think a C die is used for 336(maybe)?

Yes it is for copper squeeze ons or as we call the copper ones, crimpets. It is for the concentric neutral on 750 UG coming out of the station. Had to move a piece for a turning lane. 336 takes an 1 1/8 on jumper sleeves and N die on squeeze ons, but yes for squeeze ons

You can get the crimpts for all the copper wire sizes. Makes a much better connection than split bolts. Too late to send one from the midwest?

Sorry to keep conversating without a die for you, but. What size is the concentric after you twist it? I know that for #2 and 4/0 UG we use "#2 to #2" crimpets because the concentric winds up being about the size of #2 and we usually crimp on to 6-A or 8-A copperweld or on to #2 stranded in cabinets and padmounts.

What are you crimping your concentric on to? Have you considered the bi-metal squeeze-ons? I think when we did a job with 350 UG risers fed by 336 aluminum we used squeeze-ons because the concentric wound up was about the size of 1/0 or 2/0. We probably used a C die but I can't remember.

Just wondering, thanks.

Mostly we just use the crimpts for copper to copper but we have them up to 4/0 and the only ones you use the C for is 2 strand and smaller. The rest you use O or D dies.
