Does anyone have any information about working high voltage from a helicopter? I would like to do this some time in the near future.

Thanks Bill

You have to introduce yourself to the doorman. Well he's more like the rat you find on the sidewalk by the door. You've probably stepped over him a time or two.

He's pretty bright though. Well except whenever you ask him something. Then he dims a bit.

Anyway I can't answer your question until you have satisfied him and have submitted to this board, everything there possibly is to know of you.

We need pictures, hair and blood samples, birth certificates and a descriptive geneology that proves your not the son of Adolf Hitler or anyone like that. You know man?

You don't deserve anything from us until you make swamprat happy.

can't have a hair sample. It has been shaved off. blood sample will reveal high contents of alchol. I am a journeyman lineman for a cooperative in Ohio. I was with a IOU for 15.5 years, when I left there I was in the safety and training Dept. It was very fullfilling and exciting, but line work has my true passion. I felt I could train and do the work.

**still grinning about the hair sample**

Out of curiosity Bill, and you don't owe me an answer, but why would you want to do this after 15.5 yrs of working linework from ground up?

I hope someone answers you that has done this type of work because I'd be curious to know if anyone here has that type of training or experience. I might have missed a few posts or threads about this, but I've yet to read about one that has.

Anyway, good luck and more POWER to ya! :D

[QUOTE=barehander;29847]Bill, I don't know if there are other utilities doing helo work, but there are private firms like usaairmobil that do. I know a lot of contractors do skid transfer but not sure about helo barehanding. We work off of a platform to change spacers and repair conductor, etc, but I do know we are the only utility in the USA doing helo long line work, hot or cold. There are a lot of people on this site that talk a lot of crap, but I have to tell you.....this separates the men from the boys![/QUOTE

I am not a lineman yet, but some day I will be. Seen that type of work done is cool. I know here in Central Calli I seen it done by PG&E. By any chance you work for them.

working from the ground up has been very interesting and I have learned alot about the work and life. Working heights has always been interesting, I would like to take it to the next level. I like to do things that others have not done or are to scared to do.

My old super used to say " if it isn't written down, it didn't happen." I have pics to show what I've done in my 35 yrs and I can show my kids and their kids what that is.

I think it's important to take random pictures at work just for fun. You occasionally see the old retro black and white photo's and it's always interesting to see a snapshot of life back then. With small digital cameras and camera-phones it's never been easier to log things. Some of the pictures can bring back fond memories later.

Even if it's just your workmates losing their dignity at the workshop...
