We were informed late last night that a fatality occurred in the Palm Springs area involving one of our PAR crews. Journeyman-Lineman Richard Eastman from IBEW #77 was killed in the process of installing a property line transformer using an electric capstan when the transformer fell from an elevated position knocking Brother Eastman to the ground killing him.
The foreman immediately called Paramedics who responded within minutes and transported Brother Eastman to the hospital in Beaumont where he was pronounced dead.
The accident is currently under investigation.
Brother Eastman is survived by his wife Patty and his three daughters. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
We will report any further information as it becomes available to us.
