A 100T head uses a wider die than a 60T so you need fewer bites. In my experience, the wider the die the less chance of producing a banana.
Go for a double acting head if you can, the release is faster. On our single acting 60T the release is so bad that we have to get a podger (spud wrench) in and force the ram down. For this reason the 60T head rarely comes out. we use the 36T head in the air and the 100T on the ground.
Hope this helps.
