alright guys am new to the forum and i,ve been trying my hardest to read some of the post but i,ve noticed your lingo(terms of speak) on here for some of the gear you use at work is completely different dont suppose any of you got the time to explain some of them will put down some of mine
the basics are thesame its just the odd one here and there
shut down = cutting off supply
rigging out = setting up ready to pull conductor
hot glove = doing live line work
permit = piece of paper issued by engineer to allow work to comence
section = angle pole
pin angle = section without dish,s
terminal = last pole
tranny = transformer
would apprciate any help here guys

Hello to a fellow brit...
Down in Oxfordshire we use pretty much the same lingo as you, but never heard rigging out, and we have a section pole in straight if needed not just at an angle. Pin angle is anything with a less than 15 degree deviation...
Cheers.
Kill it , open it up, dump the circut = cuttin the supply or power off .( "dump the circut" is usually a means of last resort or in an emergency situation)
rigging and settin up = getting ready to pull in a conductor
work it hot , glovin it = doing live line work
job package usually includes, print, work order = paper from the engineer, (wich usually can't be done as on the print because they never went out and actually looked at it )! :D
angle pole, corner pole = angle pole
tangent, inline = inline, no angle, straight
dead end = last pole
pot = transformer
