If you are looking to go to work in BC it is a great time to come up.Lots of work, the dollar is parr with the greenback and the union agreement here with 258 is by far the best I have worked under anywhere.I came up from the US in 2003 and It's been great.Best companies to work for are Pacific Electric, they have a big 230kv job that is going to start in about 2-3weeks,good living out allowance and hrs, great equipment.Allteck line contractors is another good one they are a Quanta company,I here Pacific Electric is soon to be bought out by Quanta aswell. The pay is 40 plus an hr and full medical dental and pension. The two major power companies here are Fortis and BC Hydro, they are good to work for aswell but don't pay as much as the contractors.Stay away from Arctic Power Systems bad news, botttom feeders of the industry up here.50 plus transmission jobs have been approved to go over the next 5 years lots of $$$ to be made here.Call Union Hall and get the info, they have work permitts for US workers already to go,god Knows we put alot of Canadian brothers to work when they needed it.

red seal is an interprovincial ticket. however not ever province recognizes the red seal from other provinces. in alberta this is the case. and the app usually get this as they write this test in after there 4th year. if you were to challenge the provincial test then you end up with a trade certification(need certain number of hours plus backing form your company).
