Has anyone heard of a guy climbing poles after a total knee replacement?I am 54 and had to get it done. I work for a small IOU and I don't think management has ever dealt with this before. I want to return and as a line foreman, I don't have to climb much during the normal day but shooting trouble is a different deal. Any comments out there?

hey, Canuk,
I had all of the ligaments in my right knee replaced with cadaver parts 3 years ago after a nasty fall. I climb at least weekly, and usually daily. I had to learn to do most of my work off of my left leg, but my right knee holds up pretty good when i have to work off it. I didnt have total knee replacement, but i think it relates to what your asking. I love to climb, but, to preserve my knee, if my partner offers to take the apprentice up on a bastard job, more often than not, I say "thanks". And let them go up and do it. I have learned to pick my climbs, when I can. And if I cant, I nut up, take some more ibuprofen, and put my tools on.
Hope that helps ya a little.
