Mid American Energy Employee Was Electrocuted yesterday and one of his co workers were burnt severely. The other worker is stable condition. The reports coming out is that the individual that was killed was climbing down on a ladder off a transformer and grabbed one of the wires or buss that was energized and was electrocuted. The fault current then traveled down the ladder where the co worker was and burnt him. Here is a couple of link.

Mid-American is the parent company of the IOU I work for. I'm sure that all of my collegues and union brothers and sisters would share in my wish to extend our heartfelt sorrow to the families and co-workers of these individuals. No statement from our management yet on this tragedy.

A person in our shop was telling everyone they had an aluminium ladder, I highly doubt it, I suspect in that location,(on a substation transfomer) it wouldn't matter how well insulated the ladder was.
