your not a scab just because your not union, a scab is a person that crosses over a union picket line to do others work!and yes some have selfed union tickets in the international those are the worst scabs!

your probably going to have to go through an apprenticeship, unless u have something that proves you are a jl most unions want so see some kind of training rpogram. your best beat is to call some locals and see what they say. im not sure what the unions are down there but i can give you the names of the ones up in the northeast.

I've heard something about being able to call a local and testing out for a JL "white" ticket...
I think local 20 in Dallas would be one that you might want to contact.

Drug up from New Braunfels, TX as a non-union lineman and came back north and seen the light and joined up with local 369 and I tell you what I love it. Better wages, better work, better life. Good to see more people seeing the light.

Check with local 66 like west coast said.. I know Houston Pole Line is usually taking hands from what I hear. Plus theres all the plants and stuff there if you dont mind working in them.

Here`s the scoop. If you have documented hours you can challenge the test. Allot of people have and never tell those of us that have went through a J.A.T.C, but as you have been advised call 66 they are well aware of this stuff and are gonna be more than happy to get another non-unoion linehand to join the team. Good Luck Stay Safe:cool:
