First I've heard of it? Must be costlier than the Miller and Buckingham! If it's user friendly and expensive our company won't buy it!

I am an Army instructor at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX. I teach airmen, sailors, and soldiers new to the military how to climb. We used the Jelco fall restraint for a while (the Navy students still do). A couple of reps from Bashlin came to our school last year and sold us on the idea of changing to their pole lariat. Since switching, we have had less falls and have sent less people to the hospital for injuries than we did before using the lariat. It is easier to climb in than the Jelco and the Bucksqueeze as well. The Bashlin is similar to free climbing, at least more so than having to hitchhiking like you do with the Jelco and Bucksqueeze. RCDallas - If you would like to make a trip up to Wichita Falls to take a look at the Bashlin in use by our students, let me know and I can set it up. Any more questions, let me know.

Found out our company tried it or actually had Bashlin demonstrate it and they found if the choker part was below waste line then they couldn't guarantee you were in fall arrest?

If that's true then I think that would be a valid reason for passin that one by! Kind of defeats the purpose!!:o

When we saw it demonstrated they said it gave a 50% chance of working. . .or failing whichever way you want to look at it. . .

They demonstrated the bashlin at our lineschool and it didnt look to bad. The guy cutout and it held em' up good. Bet if the kids first started climbing with it before they learned any other way they wouldnt know the difference. I'll pass though I'd rather run up the pole.

AGREE but the desk jockeys higher up want to make our job easy enough for their kids to do it!
