I'm planning on going west to BC Hydro from the Toronto area with my young family. I went through the interview process already. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on where to go in BC? Where not to go?

Don't even think about Bella Bella or Bella Coola unless your a hermit.
The most desireable is the lower mainland for most easterners.
The central inrterior works for some.
Where Lil Beaver lives is for the outdoors type. A team of wild horsees wouldn't get him out of there.
Kitimat is for the fishermen.
Nelson and area is for the skiers and snowmobilers. Perhaps too remote for most Torontonians.
Vancouver Island is OK if your now constrictde by being on an island. A ferry trip one way to the mainland will kill $100 bucks plus each way.
The whole thing is that the most desireable places is where the bulk of the employees want to be so you likely will have to locate somewhere else and wait your turn.
Vernon and Kelowana are great if there is openings.
Good luck.
