Pike Electric Corporation (NYSE: PIKE), one of the nation's leading energy solutions providers, has purchased Klondyke Construction, LLC based in Phoenix, AZ.

Klondyke provides construction and maintenance services primarily associated with electric substation, transmission and distribution infrastructure. Klondyke also constructs renewable energy generation facilities. Klondyke generated revenue of approximately $28 million during the last twelve months. Following the close of the acquisition, Howard Varner, President, and Steve McClain, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will continue in their current roles at Klondyke.

"The talented individuals that work for Klondyke coupled with their geographic location and union relationships make this a very compelling move for us. This acquisition is consistent with our growth strategy and significantly expands our presence in the southwest," said J. Eric Pike, Chairman and CEO of Pike.

"Pike's siting, planning, and engineering capabilities now provide Klondyke the platform to pursue multiple large scale EPC projects simultaneously. This combination positions Klondyke to offer an even broader level of service to our customers," explained Howard Varner, president of Klondyke.

Klondyke's range of construction services related to substation, transmission and distribution infrastructure complements our west coast engineering capabilities and enables the continued expansion of EPC services. "This combination allows Pike and Klondyke the ability to meet the increased need for substation and transmission infrastructure in the southwest region as more solar and wind capacity is developed and brought on line," continued Mr. Pike.

The yellow trucks are moving West. j. eric pike is going to make sure he kills a man/woman in each state of the greatest country of the world. The Klondyke people better start looking for jobs as some will for sure get cut and the workers there will be treated like chit.

Does anyone know how they've treated the Shaw workers yet? Have they killed the Shaw name yet? Wondering if they've already got their stickers on the doors yet. Shaw doesnt work down here so if anyone knows holler at me.

To the ones on the West coast, what is Klondyke like? Are they one of those true rat companies or a decent place to work?

Did Eric Pike really say something positive about unions? WOW!!

I was actually with Shaw EDS when when the buy out happend working in Texas City. First day of Pike running us just so happend to be the first day of Hurricane Gustave restoration efforts. Well they werent in no hurry to chang anything over since we was working till we were the talk of the coop where we was working.. Bird dogs stated outl loud "Hell if I had 2 more of them Shaw crews like the one I got we could send all these guys from Pike back to North Carolina.." He didnt know bout the buy out and boy did it rub them pike boys the wrong way! Needless to say they made us take all of our truck in that night and stay up late (We slept in our trucks the whole storm) so they could change the stickers on the doors and then made us pose for pictures.. What a joke.

The day the buy out was announced I told the boss my days was numbered cause I'd never work for a shit place like Pike again! I kept my work and I aint lookin back.

Im under the impression those offices are from the Shaw buy out. They mainly bought Shaw for the engineering and substation construction. No line crews known to be in them areas from Pike.

Yes if they have any out that way its from Shaw, as pike doesnt have anything that far West until these buyouts.

eric pike WONT let pike become Union. He'll pull out of the state before he goes Union. Watch and see.

With help from the international they could bombard the crews out west and have them all vote to organize before Mt. Airy even knows whats going on.. If theres a will theres a way.

I still dont think they'll do it. pike threatens action against anyone that talks to the Union. The Union supporters will be "pushed out"

Klondyke started out non-union. They haven't been organized for too many years. I worked there back around '06 and they weren't too bad.

Pike, blah...

I've done seen them myself in the Texas Hill Country having a crew doing a double circuit, they had guys with maybe 6 months experience working primary... got a call after seeing them around for month or two where their was a contact.

Stupid not to organize.
