Dallas, I like Whites so much I have two pair of their dress packers. There was no breaking in period for me with them, they are like wearing a good pair of elk skin gloves, soft and comfortable. Now I don't do steel or composite toes on my work boots so I can't answer you about that style.

I'm wearing Wesco highliners, still in good shape, although I am also interested in White's. I like Wesco, but want to try White's is there much of a difference? The only thing with Wesco is I have custom fit, and if I try a thicker sock for winter, it's a little to tight and my toes freeze. Does White's put more room in the toe?

If you get them custom built, you measure your foot with the sock you are wanting for work socks. Try squeezing your toes priodically, I do when on a plane, driving, standing in a bucket or on a pole. Once developed this habit keeps the blood circulating in your lower body.

I never thought of trying to move em some to keep em warm. I guess you live and learn, even with custom fit.
