guys sounds like parts of the midwest could get an inch of ice and 40 mph winds in parts, ass loads of snow and blizzards in other parts. just wanted to say stay safe and good luck to all the crews involved.

Kooman, we are talking about this storm here (http://www.powerlineman.com/lforum/showthread.php?t=6640), but I understand if you never go there where you'd miss it.

I wish it would miss us or fizzle out. But the roads are getting worse and we were told to show up packed tomorrow morning for 2 or 3 days in case something does go wrong on our own territory, far enough from home to stay somewhere. But this winter, like the last one is dragging on and on........

Damn I wish!! They don't start paying till I pull outta the driveway!! Then the first 40 is straight time, then we hit OT, and it's just time and a half!! no double or triple time!!
But $.51/mile, until I meet up with my Driver, then, I usually let him take his ride...Drivers get $18 or $19/hr, I get $30 and if he uses his truck he gets the mileage, let's him make a little more, and I just have to navigate some and hold on for the ride!!:D
Besides my Drivers truck is an 07 Z71, mine's an 02:D

Lots of snow, not much ice to speak of. We aren't going anywhere as of this afternoon. Hell I checked our own outages a minute ago, and only 1 customer was out; out of 890,000+ customers total in Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas. Don't think this storm did near the damage they thought it would ........

50,000 out in Dallas and they are panicking about the Superbowl. They must work awful slow there.:D
Knock the rust off the hooks Stevie........ya just might learn something:D
But seriously ERCOT is having rolling blackouts here that is the major concern
Also u know it takes us southerners an hour to drive a mile in snow/ice.:D
Truth is TXDOT is extremely ill prepared for things like these compared to states up north, its just not something they budget for since it hardly ever happens so the roads stay horrendous.

Those hooks are put up, and they were treated and no rust. Besides you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
That was a joke about slow, but in a slow day for US News it hit the air Waves. I'VE ice skated 80,000 lbs down US 75 North of Dallas before. But Kansas was ill prepared for what fell in 24 hours here. We couldn't open the back door and the drifts was door handle high on my F-350 4X4 1 ton. I am shovel shy at 65 and traded a JD6140 for a Cat tracked skid steer to dig out our vehicles and the Telelect in case someone wants to rent it.There is money to be made even at 7 degrees below zero.
lol,Great to hear you haven't lost that greed....
