i also always carried a 17/19 podger .i did a lot of traffo work and these tools

Podgers are our spud wrenches and shifters are a leather tool holder for your belt.

Yeah, nice one Neil, writing in broad Scottish language for the yanks. :D
Podger, yeah, "spud wrench"
Shifter = adjustable spanner or adjustable wrench.

Out of all people I would of never thought of, he showed me this wrench from Autozone that does four sizes in one...3/4, 11/16, 5/8, 9/16.
Now everyone I work with has one after showing them that.
I learned to carry as few tools as possible, use the channel locks and kleins for my ruler.
Took and cut in half one of those rubber straps for sleeves and put it on my breakaway hook folded back so my little tag line can stay coiled up on my belt without falling off...learned that from guys in Fort Worth.
Short pair of biters makes nice. Never forget the Lowell wrench.
USED to have a piece from a guy automatic turned into a hook, but the rules say I can't have it...so now I don't bother carrying a press wrench with me on the way up.

Everything! I hate not havin a tool with me! My favorite is this....

Dam thing is tough! Kind of a poor mans Lowell?
Plus I heat shrink all the handles of my tools cause I got long fingers and they seem to be easier to handle in gloves and sleeves?

And that wrench is the best hammer for even driving staples.

What the hell are they made of? I swear I've beat the crap out of it and not so much as a ding but it's relatively light weight? I had two but someone kept eye ballin it so I traded him for a bowling ball!:o I know sounds funny! Anyways so I keep my other one at home where its safe!
I carry linemans hammer, ruler, fargo wrench 9/16-3/4, 1 10" crescent, kleins, knife & this http://www.hubbellpowersystems.com/connectors/dist/dist-tools/ratchet-wrenches/

Saw the metric equivalent of that this year. A podger with a double sided sliding insert inside the double sided head giving four metric sizes in one tool. Very neat.
