How many agree or disagree with the Supreme Courts ruling that corporations cannot be limited under the first amendment when it comes to funding of political broadcasts during elections?

Obviously not many on this site have an opinion. Personally I think that the problem with politics and politicians is money. We the people elect them and then the lobbyist and the special interest groups take them over. Only donations from "the people" should be allowed. We got a taste of what is to come during the 2010 elections and it was not pretty. Here's an example, the largest spender in the past election was the Chamber of Commerce which favors the Republican('t) party. Over 40% of their funds came from good old COMMUNIST China. I have a real problem with that but stay tuned for more of the same. It would not be so bad if people could tell the truth from a lie but that just does not happen, we all know if we see it on TV it's got to be true doesn't it;) I loved it when President Obama said what he said with all the "penguins" sitting right there. Watching Roberts, Scalia, Thomas and Alito squirm was worth watching. Only individuals should be allowed to contribute to the political parties and contributions should have a cap. No corporations, No labor organizations, No special interest groups just individuals. FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE. But until then thank God for DVR's!

I disagree... This whole money issue isthe problem with our country... and any one who disagrees with that is very disalouginal (sp).

every politician in this country at this point in time is in it for only one reason.... Money.

The only way this country will ever get back to the REAL AMERICA is with a violent take over of Washington. It will go on and on long after I'm dead.. the deficit will grow and grow and nothing will ever get acomplished... mainly because of the big business influence in politics.

Here is another decision I am sure you will love Wud......the supreme court upheld the "Westboro Baptist Church's" right to conduct anti-gay protests at military funerals because it is considered "freedom of speech."

I think that kind of action should be considered a hate crime....how absolutely horrible for the families to have to deal with....those people are animals. Free speech my a$$

Bullshit! They have no right, nor does anyone else to try to destroy a person emotionally with careless, hateful, spiteful irresponsible words. Everyone is not able to deal with that.......most especially a family laying a son or daughter to rest, especially those lost in service for this country.

It isnt criminal......but in my opinion....it should be.:mad:

It isnt free speech when an innocent human pays for the words, in this case, the families of the fallen.

I agree completely.
And...barry addressing that decision, in his state of the Union speach last year...

was very "low Class".:(

"Not True".

I agree EL. But...this is America. They have a right...to express their opinion...as sick as it may be. Many states, and countys, are legislating Laws, that restrict groups...of any sort, to a certain distance from the funeral.

That, and the Legion Riders THUNDER...are makin a difference.

Let me get this straight.....

These goons can terrorize a grieving family, but the President is "low class" because he disagrees with a Supreme Court decision?

You are a drivelling JACKASS.

Like the father of the fallen Marine said regarding this decision "They (Supreme Court) may be intelligent, book smart individuals but they don't have the common sense that God gave a goat." I believe that everyone should have the right to lay to rest their loved one in privacy especially if that loved one died fighting for their country. Mark my word there will be trouble and the blood that flows will be on the hands of the justices. I gained a little respect for Alito for dissenting.

I do understand your argument, don't entirely agree but do understand. Let me ask you this. How would you react if ,God forbid, it was your son or daughter lying in the casket and in your last moment you have with them this group of idiots were across the road doing what they do. It's different than the "Band of Brothers" on the motorcycles honoring the deceased with the families blessing. How would you react Swamp?
