Just got a couple of the New, Lincoln pennys today....
What's up with that? "They" took the Lincoln memorial off the back and replaced it with some stupid lookin "shield".
Anybody know what the shield is for???

Did anybody even know the penny was gonna be changed?
I mean...the Lincoln penny....A bust on Lincoln, the lincoln memorial....And now it has some shield???

Swamp is on my ignore list and he will remain there. The one failing of this feature is that I can read his posts when others quote him.

I must say I remain impressed with how completely ignorant one can be of American history and still claim to be a patriot and "conservative". (How can one want to "conserve" something they know nothing about?)

Having just returned from a trip to DC, the union shield is very prominent there; especially at the Capital Building.

I have also seen it various other places; most notably at the Hoover Dam where a very nice description of its meaning is engraved into the walkway.

Swamp remains my ideal American.:rolleyes: (complete sarcasm)
