Like to fish the local bass derbies. Tried my hand at golf once and was aggravated because I had to chase the damn ball, never straight & consistently on over to the other fairways. I suppose the drinking was fun though. :o All I kept thinking was how purdy those golf course ponds are and how I would bet my lunch money there was a 5+ hanging out in the toolies.

Used to hunt, fish and fly RC planes... I also had my private license to fly... untill 1999.
My best friend had his helicopter license and we used to patrol transmission lines for NIMO.... when they couldn't do it themselves. He was a crackerjack with that thing... hovering 2 feet off a tower or line... we had some good times.

Technical scuba diving, cycling, running, scouts, hunting, etc. If I can do it outdoors, it's probably a hobbie of mine.

I used to think I want to try riding bulls when I was younger. Went to the National Finals one time and noticed nobody really walked right there. After seeing it up close, I knew I would rather be a spectator.
Do you hunt mostly sea ducks?

I have a daughter that teaches in Oakland. While visiting her in Feb of 2010 we were north of the Bay area in wine country. Saw a lot of brant, I've only ever seen one in MI. I didn't know if you had the sea ducks on the coast similar to New England.

I'm in the central valley north of Sacramento,,,see some brant once in awhile,,on the way thru(aren't they actualy a small goose), we see a lot of specks and honkers, some open water ducks and if you get away from the flooded rice and pit blinds like we hunt you can find some wood ducks. I have a lineman buddy in Arkansas that kills them in the flooded timber 80 -100 at a time,,,that's where I wanna hunt,,,,that and Argentina.

I've hunted flooded rice in Arkansas, I'd like to hunt the flooded timber sometime. We have a lot of wood ducks here, it has been a real success story in Michigan. I've hunted in Manitoba for snows and all sort of ducks.

Have you dove shipwrecks around Isle Royale?

Celebrated my 300th dive at Isle Royale. Dove on the America, Algoma, Henry Chisholm, Emperor, George Cox, and the Congdon. Want arrange another trip with all of the same guys but I don't see that happening. When I do make it back though, I want to dive the Kamloops and pay homage to the engineer. My only other dream dive is the Andrea Dorea but I've heard that it is deteroriating really bad.

I think your referring to another Kamloops. The one I want to dive was a Canaller built in 1924 and sunk in Dec. 1927. She was a freight hauler on Lake Superior and is by Kamloops Point at Isle Royale.

Fishing seems to be the popular choice and living where I do it would be stupid not to. But I also paint. Water colors. I have done a lot of linemen paintings, portraits etc. I don't do many landscapes anymore, people are more interesting.
