I’ve always called that style fuse holder a chocolate box.

I hate the damn things. Ive seen a bunch of em with the porcelin ring broken off still in service with no good way to open them. Even a new one is a booger to refuse with a long stick. The door never opens when a fuse melts or blows and it makes finding the problem harder than it needs to be.

Ummmmmm you are talking like they dont make them thangs anymore. Truth is they do and lottsa places( Not utilities) still use em.I have seen some on 13.8 200amp rated, and will accept 2/0 wire in both ends. I hate the dern things, but with the way they are designed they are explosion proof and thats why they are still in use.

Just refused one today as a matter a fact. We still have em on our 4160 wye and 4800 delta feeders. They make them up to 600 amps believe it our not.
